Laser Vision Correction
Dr. DeGroff has been involved in laser vision correction since it was first being considered for approval by the FDA in the early 90’s. As an optometric physician, Dr. DeGroff does not operate the computerized laser itself, but he performs the most critical aspects of laser vision correction – preliminary evaluations, candidate determination, education, referral and follow-up care of the patient.
Many people are good candidates for laser surgery, but there are a few people for whom the procedure would NOT be appropriate. Dr. DeGroff’s role is to make absolutely certain that each of his patients is thoroughly examined, evaluated, and fully informed of the benefits, limitations, risks and potential side-effects of the surgery so the patient may make the best individual decision about the surgery.
