Dr. Steven DeGroff of Family Eye Care in Berne and Winchester attended The Indiana Optometric Association Annual Fall Conference in Bloomington, IN on October 3.

Topics presented included the use of comeal measuring instrumentation for fitting of specialized contact lenses, the latest research and the newest treatments for age-related macular degeneration, and nutritional advances related to eye disorders such as macular degeneration, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome and other eye disorders that occur in conjunction with cardiovascular disease.

Dr. DeGroff pointed out "The treatment of wet macular degeneration, the most prevalent cause of blindness for people over age 55, is changing very quickly, often with new advances being found within months of the adoption of previous techniques of treatment." Dr. DeGroff concluded: "These seminars are paramount for us as eye specialty practitioners to keep up on the rapidly changing developments."

Dr. DeGroff, Dr. Steven Stoller and Dr. Christine Mummert have combined over sixty years experience in primary optometric and surgical eye care in Northeast and East Central Indiana.
